The Bundesliga football club 1. FC Union Berlin is in mourning following the death of a youth coach. According to a statement on the club’s website, Marlon Höfer passed away at the age of 28. He served as the goalkeeper coach for the U14 team at the club’s youth development center.
„Marlon was a husband and a loving father of two children. A passionate supporter of Union, he attended matches whenever possible. As a teacher of sports and Italian, he recently resided in Köpenick. His enthusiasm for football as a coach and goalkeeper was infectious,“ the club expressed in their tribute.
