RB Leipzig’s Marco Rose Prepares for SC Freiburg Match with Unique Training Camp

RB Leipzig’s Marco Rose Prepares for SC Freiburg Match with Unique Training Camp

Ahead of a challenging away match against SC Freiburg, RB Leipzig's coach Marco Rose announces a short training camp in Salzburg to prepare the team.

Before a challenging away match against SC Freiburg, RB Leipzig’s under-pressure coach Marco Rose is implementing an unusual strategy. The Bundesliga club announced that the team will depart for a two-and-a-half-day training camp in Salzburg on Wednesday evening, following a training session at their Leipzig Cottaweg facility. The team will then head to Freiburg for their crucial match on Saturday at 18:30 (Sky).

Team Unity Emphasized

National player David Raum remarked on the benefits of coming together as a team for a few days before the match, saying, “As a team, coming together for two, three days and then going directly to Freiburg for the game can do us good.” He also commented on Rose’s future, stating, “He gives a very positive, motivating impression. He always finds the right words, so there’s absolutely no need to discuss the coach. For me, he is still the right one for our team.” Raum expressed his eagerness to tackle the upcoming games with Rose, believing they can still achieve their goals under his leadership.

Taking Responsibility

Raum, noting the team’s performance with just one win in seven Bundesliga matches, emphasized the need for the team to take responsibility. “We need to solve it on the pitch. We have to hold ourselves accountable and reflect,” said the left-back, stressing the importance of mutual demands among teammates: “Only in this way can we still reach our goals.”

Full Squad for Training Camp

The Leipzig squad, including the coaching staff, will travel to Austria, where they will utilize the facilities of their sister club FC Red Bull Salzburg. Only injured players Benjamin Henrichs, Assan Ouedraogo, Antonio Nusa, and Xaver Schlager will remain at the RB Academy to continue their recovery.

After a 1-2 home defeat against FSV Mainz 05 last Saturday, Leipzig currently sits sixth in the Bundesliga, three points away from a Champions League spot.
