Ole Werner, the head coach of Werder Bremen, is contemplating a career shift post-football, envisioning himself as a surf instructor. In an interview with „Bild am Sonntag,“ the 36-year-old stated, „Why not?“ He elaborated that teaching others about surfing doesn’t necessarily require him to participate actively. „You don’t have to stand up on the board yourself; you just need to explain how it works. For me, that’s not completely absurd – it’s definitely something I could do,“ he said.
Since November 2021, Werner has been at the helm of the Bremen team. However, his roots lie in Schleswig-Holstein, a region known for its tourism and water sports. „I come from an area where tourism and particularly water sports play a significant role. I have many friends who earn a living from it,“ Werner shared. He expressed a keen interest in potentially collaborating in areas such as hospitality, gastronomy, or even surf schools in the future.
