Borussia Dortmund may be facing a significant absence of midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian national player suffered a knee injury during a Bundesliga match against his former club, RB Leipzig, and had to be substituted after approximately thirty minutes of play.
As reported by Sky, the severity of the injury could not be determined during the halftime break. Further insights are expected from an MRI.
Sabitzer had been a regular starter under the new coach Niko Kovac. He played the full 90 minutes in both Champions League round of 16 matches against OSC Lille, which ended in draws of 1-1 and 2-1.
