Handball national player Juri Knorr is on the verge of making his comeback. After overcoming health challenges, the 24-year-old participated in light training with Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Tuesday. Coach Sebastian Hinze stated, „Now we need to see how he copes and if it is sufficient,“ as the team prepares for their league match against SG BBM Bietigheim on Thursday.
Knorr was unable to participate in the German national team’s matches during the World Championship in January due to illness, missing the crucial games against Italy and Tunisia. Although he returned to the field for the quarterfinals against Portugal, he was absent from the Bundesliga match last Sunday against HSV Hamburg. Previously, he had missed the last two league games in 2024 due to bronchitis, further impacting his participation with the two-time champions and cup winners.
