Successful Weekend for German Snowboard Team
The German snowboard team has celebrated a double victory at the World Cup in Canada. Ramona Hofmeister repeated her success from the previous day by winning the second parallel giant slalom event for women in Val St. Come. Elias Huber also made headlines by achieving the first World Cup victory of his career in the men’s category.
Exceptional athlete Hofmeister triumphed in the final against Swiss competitor Julie Zogg. The 28-year-old from WSV Bischofswiesen notched her fifth win in the last six individual races.
Having put her slow season start behind her, the four-time overall World Cup winner is now bolstering hopes for a successful Snowboard World Championships in March in Switzerland with her current winning streak.
Huber capped off his remarkable day shortly after Hofmeister’s victory, defeating South Tyrolean Roland Fischnaller in the final. Until this win, the best result for the 25-year-old had been a second place finish in Rogla, Slovenia, at the end of January.
