Max Eberl, the sports director of FC Bayern, has highlighted the club’s commitment to managing salary costs effectively amidst anticipated costly contract renewals. Speaking on Prime Video, Eberl stated, „In the long run, we are trying to maintain a salary structure. We are also working to reduce costs to some extent over the next months and over the next year and a half. This is a goal we have discussed within the board and the supervisory board.“
Despite these efforts to control expenses, Eberl affirmed that the club is willing to invest in top players who have the potential to make a significant impact and help secure titles. He specifically mentioned Joshua Kimmich as a key player and future captain of FC Bayern once Manuel Neuer retires. Eberl said, „Josh Kimmich is a leader and should become the captain of FC Bayern in the future when Manuel Neuer eventually steps down.“
Joshua Kimmich’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season. The club has recently secured new contracts with sought-after talents Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies, while former national goalkeeper Neuer will also remain with Bayern for another year.
