Daniel Theis Transfers to NBA Contender Oklahoma City Thunder

Basketball World Champion Daniel Theis has made a move within the NBA, transferring from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder confirmed the trade following the conclusion of the transfer deadline on Wednesday afternoon (local time). Prior reports, including from ESPN, had already indicated the trade.

By joining the Thunder, Theis will play alongside his fellow countryman Isaiah Hartenstein and MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. At 32 years old, Theis now has a chance to contend for the championship. The Thunder currently hold the best record in the NBA, while the Pelicans are among the league’s bottom teams.

This transfer marks the seventh different team for Theis in the NBA, following stints with the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, and the New Orleans Pelicans.
