Beginning with the 2026/27 season, Adidas will provide the official match ball for German professional football. The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) announced that the partnership with the globally recognized company based in Herzogenaurach will last for four seasons, continuing until 2029/30. This agreement encompasses all matches in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, as well as the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and the relegation playoffs between the first and second divisions.
DFL Managing Director Steffen Merkel noted that Adidas presented a compelling offer that met all criteria set by the DFL and the 36 clubs involved. He emphasized the significance of selecting the right official match ball for the highest-scoring top league in Europe, expressing enthusiasm for this collaboration and the planning certainty it brings.
Adidas previously served as the official match ball supplier for the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga from the 2010/11 season until the 2018/19 season. Until the end of the current season in 2025/26, teams will continue to use balls supplied by Derbystar.
