Manuel Neuer Exits Champions League Match Due to Injury

Manuel Neuer had to leave the field due to injury during the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen, leading to the debut of young goalkeeper Jonas Urbig.

Injury Forces Early Substitution

Manuel Neuer was substituted due to injury during the Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen. The captain of the German football record champions indicated shortly after Jamal Musiala scored to make it 2-0 in the 54th minute of the Round of 16 first leg that he could not continue. The 38-year-old had to leave the pitch prematurely in his 150th Champions League appearance at the 58-minute mark, apparently due to issues with his right leg.

Urbig Makes His Debut

Jonas Urbig, the U21 national goalkeeper, aged 21, was brought on as Neuer’s replacement, making his debut for the Munich team. Urbig had transferred to Munich from 1. FC Köln in January.
