Kim Oszvald-Renkema is set to become the new managing director of the Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) following her departure from the volleyball champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart. The 37-year-old former player will assume her new role on May 1, succeeding Julia Retzlaff and overseeing the sales and sports development sectors, as announced by the league.
Oszvald-Renkema played a pivotal role in establishing Stuttgart as a leading name in German women’s volleyball during her tenure as sports director. However, the club revealed at the end of last year that they could not agree on a contract extension.
Disagreement over contract length in Stuttgart?
The league acknowledged Oszvald-Renkema’s desire for personal development and her search for new professional challenges. Reports indicated that she was interested in remaining with Stuttgart, but there were disagreements regarding the length of her new contract.
Now, the 37-year-old will form the leadership duo of the VBL alongside Daniel Sattler, whose contract has been extended, and will work closely with her former club.
