Contract Details Confirmed
FC Bayern Munich revealed that they have had clarity in their contract negotiations with young talent Jamal Musiala for quite some time. According to Eberl, the discussions were nearly finalized shortly after Christmas, leading to an agreement in January. „The fact was that we were almost through with Jamal right after Christmas, and that we had the commitment in January. Then it was just a matter of drafting the contracts,“ Eberl stated during an interview with Sky, on the sidelines of the match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Contract Extension Announcement
On Friday, Bayern Munich announced the contract extension of Musiala until 2030. The 21-year-old will also see a significant increase in his salary, elevating him among the club’s top earners. This news follows similar contract renewals for Manuel Neuer, who extended until 2026, and Alphonso Davies, whose new deal runs through 2030.
Future Negotiations
Meanwhile, the status of Joshua Kimmich remains unresolved, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Eberl commented, „We know exactly what we want, and Josh knows what we want. Now, I hope we can get this over the finish line.“
No Current Interest in Wirtz
Eberl also addressed the potential signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s young star Florian Wirtz, clarifying that the focus is currently on the ongoing season. „We have a season where we can still become German champions and achieve something in the Champions League. I believe it is important to discuss our squad and contract extensions now, while the topics for the summer will likely arise starting in May,“ he added.
